FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The AFSPA Proud Warrior Program honors the courage displayed by Security Forces men and women who are medically evacuated to the United States from a war zone due to significant combat-related injuries. It is our way of showing our support of these brave Airmen for their patriotism and contributions toward Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) (Afghanistan) or Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). These injuries usually involve amputations and other serious injuries that require treatment at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC.
Of the five Proud Warrior Airman that we have recognized, three are now being treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as outpatients. See the links below to obtain information about these brave young American patriots who we so proudly recognize:

Visits. We make periodic visits to the Airmen while hospitalized at Walter Reed.
With your generous donations, we can provide more support to these Airmen who have made a tremendous sacrifice.

Eagle Chapter's Proud Warrior Program is supported by member donations and activities that are sponsored to raise money for this program on behalf of all serious combat-injured Airman that are medically evacuated from the war zone and are hospitalized at Walter Reed (usually for amputation care).
Our First Proud Warrior. Senior Airman Anthony (Tony) Pizzifred entered our program as a result of his encounter with a land mine in Afghanistan. Tony lost the lower part of his left leg below the knee. Tony and Brian became great friends. Tony is an active member of the US Air Force. He returned to the DC area to run in the Army's 10-Miler.
By making your tax-deductible donation to Eagle Chapter's Proud Warrior Program, you can join us in showing that America appreciates the tremendous courage and sacrifices these Security Forces Airmen display. We will acknowledge your gift to the Airman and his family or we can maintain your anonymity.
